David Bennett Galloway III

David Bennett Galloway III is of the highest academic and athletic performer caliber. He received the honor of WACH 57 scholar-athlete of the week after graduating from Chapin High School in 2022 and earning the designation. Candidates must have outstanding academic credentials, significant extracurricular achievements, and demonstrated athletic ability to be eligible for the award. Because he was successful in all three of these areas, David is considered one of the most well-rounded students in South Carolina. David is a very talented athlete who has competed in the sports of track and field, basketball, and football. He is the current holder of several track and field school records, including the 100-meter dash (10.48 seconds), the 200-meter dash (21.56 seconds), and the long jump (7.14 meters). In his final year of high school football, David was an integral part of the team that won the state championship. Galloway is a football player who realized at a young age the importance of displaying perseverance. He is fully committed to continuing his education beyond high school and knows that achieving his goals requires much effort and self-control. To achieve his optimal performance on the football field, Galloway engages in extensive strength training and carefully watches what he eats. As a running back, he is well aware of the importance of having a combination of quickness, agility, and balance, and he puts in a lot of effort to develop these skills.
